Sone-Seeré comes with 10yrs of experience as a high school art educator in PG and DC public schools. She has two Master's in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy and her research focus was exploring multiculturalism and diversity within the art therapy profession. As an art therapist, she has worked with children, adolescents and adults in private practice, various school systems, hospital settings, residential treatment facilities, an addiction treatment center, and outpatient settings. She is committed to providing workshops and art-based experiences that promote resilience, healing, holistic care, social justice and advocacy in communities that are oppressed, underrepresented and underserved.
Sone-Seeré embodies Edith Kramer’s philosophy, asserting that her role as an Artist is equally as important as her role as an Art Therapist. As an artist, she is particularly drawn to highlighting positive imagery of BIPOC experiences and is committed to addressing social justice and collective healing through her work. She was honored to be the first woman commissioned to create the official poster for the 31st Annual 2nd Street Festival in Richmond, VA. She is a 2019 “Cultural Equity in the Arts” Grant Award Recipient through CultureWorks Richmond.
