Tyler Strusowski

Tyler Strusowski is a Washington, DC resident who graduated from Hunter College with departmental honors in psychology. Tyler’s experience includes working on a crisis hotline in New York City, interning as an art therapist within the DC Public School system and participating in the study abroad program running art therapy groups at the Bokamoso Youth Center in Winterveldt, South Africa. Tyler is currently an intern at the George Washington University Art Therapy Clinic, serving adolescents and adults in the DC metropolitan area while he finishes his last year of graduate school within the George Washington University Art Therapy Program. Tyler has been involved with the visual arts since early childhood, and graduated from the art major’s program in high school where he says his art instructor’s open studio approach towards instruction had a profoundly positive influence on his personal development. Tyler can testify to the capacity of art to be psychologically cathartic. He identifies as a mixed media artist employing a variety of art materials to express an idea.
