Laura Lansrud-López has a rich and diverse work history, spanning forensic sciences, crisis intervention, behavioral health, clinical supervision, and higher education. Laura holds a Master of Science degree in Forensic Sciences from The George Washington University, and a Master of Arts degree in Art Therapy/Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She is licensed in New Mexico (LPCC & LPAT), Virginia (LPC), and Maryland (LCPAT), and holds national certification for supervision in Art Therapy (ATCS) and Counseling (ACS).
Laura has 15-years experience working with children and families impacted by grief, loss, and trauma in both home-based and outpatient settings. Laura is passionate about integrating traditional evidence-based practices with creative arts and transpersonal approaches and has advanced training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Sandplay therapy, and children’s mental health. Laura has over 10-years experience teaching graduate-level courses in art therapy and counseling and offers clinical supervision and continuing education to licensed professionals. Laura has held positions as Secretary and President of the New Mexico Art Therapy Association and was a member of the Nominations Board for the American Art Therapy Association. Most recently, Laura served as Chair of the Counseling Program at Southwestern College and was Clinical Director of Tierra Nueva Counseling Center. She currently works as an art therapist in Bethesda and holds a seat on the Advisory Board for Southwestern College and Tierra Nueva Counseling Center in Santa Fe.
